Cindy Sheehan is an American anti-war activist whose son, U.S. Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed by enemy action during the Iraq War. She attracted national and international media attention in August 2005 for her extended anti-war protest at the President's Texas ranch. Her memoir, Peace Mom: A Mother's Journey Through Heartache to Activism, was published in 2006. Cindy Sheehan is also a vegetarian. Her newest book will be available for purchase at the event.
This event is organized by several Houston-area peace and anti-war activists, who also support the veg lifestyle because they understand that peace must include all sentient beings.
