North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS) Vegetarian Summerfest (National Conference)
The North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS) presents their Annual Vegetarian Summerfest. It is set for June 27 - July 1, 2012 at the Conference Center at Pitt-Johnstown, on the picturesque campus of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, PA. The campus is a 650-acre mountaintop wildlife preserve with 40 acres of hiking trails. Registrants are offered two package options:
- FULL PACKAGE: June 27 - July 1 (five days, four nights). The program begins Wednesday afternoon (June 27).
- WEEKEND PACKAGE: June 29 - July 1 (three days, two nights). The program begins Friday evening
The conference will feature prominent educational speakers on vegan health, nutrition, ethics, environmental concerns and much more. Speakers include Will Tuttle, PhD, Dr. Dr. Neal Barnard, Lee Hall, Melanie Joy, PhD, James LaVeck, Alex Herschaft, Historian Rynn Berry and more!
There will be cooking demonstrations and exhibit booths with free samples. A Children's Center is offered for attendees aged 2-12, during all educational sessions. Conference prices include full vegan meals, catered by chef Ken Bergeron.
