VEGAN SOCIETY OF P.E.A.C.E. Outreach Booth at Annual 'Mahatma Gandhi Week' Walk for Peace and the '1000 Lights for Peace' Festival

Mahatma Gandhi Week: "1000 Lights for Peace" Festival & "Walk for Peace" in Houston

Hosted annually by the Mahatma Gandhi Library in Houston, the '1000 Lights for Peace' is a project to create a higher awareness of the inspiring life and work of Mahatma Gandhi and continue his legacy of Truth, Non-Violence, Love, Service and Peace. This is held each year during Mahatma Gandhi Week.

This event is held at Miller Outdoor Theater and features a peace walk, essay contest, poster contest, music and entertainment. The festival will follow with entertainment and the lighting of 1000 symbolic candles for peace at dusk. Admission is free and open to the public. Several dignitaries and local media will be present. Features include international dance, henna and face painting, music, vegetarian food booths and more.

Vegan Society of P.E.A.C.E. is a proud supporter of this annual event and honored to have an outreach booth promoting nonviolence and ethical vegan living. Admission is FREE and open to the public. Come and light a candle for peace and nonviolence for all living beings!
